Megan’s Occupational Therapy in Kimberley
Megan is a WorkWell-trained occupational therapist, internationally accredited to perform comprehensive Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs). She has experience in the medico-legal field, providing detailed reports that assess functional ability after injury.
For the last 8 years, she worked at a school for physically disabled children, where she served as the Head of Department, exploring various strategies and treatment modalities to help the children access their curriculum through specialised devices. She is well-versed in the educational system and how to plan an integrated therapeutic plan.
She moved to Kimberley four years ago and has been keeping herself busy in the medico-legal field, handling FCEs related to RAF claims for clients’ workability after an accident or injury.
Megan’s practice focuses on conducting thorough assessments to identify any limitations that may affect a person’s return to work. She also dedicates time to evaluating school readiness and identifying barriers to learning for children of school age. Working closely with parents, teachers, and other health professionals, she collaborates to develop personalised, client-centred therapeutic plans.

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
This is a comprehensive assessment used to determine whether an individual has sustained injuries that affect their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities related to work-related tasks. The assessment helps evaluate an individual's capacity to perform their specific job duties, facilitating a safe return to work.
Occasionally, a return-to-work program is developed to identify potential restrictions, accommodations, and adaptations to the existing job. In other instances, a suitable alternative employment placement needs to be recommended that aligns with the client's current abilities following injury. Sometimes, the assessment may conclude that the client is entirely incapacitated, and permanent incapacity might be recommended.
Medico-Legal and Medical Negligence Assessments
This is a 3-to 4-hour assessment that involves a comprehensive evaluation to determine a client's functional abilities to perform their day-to-day tasks following an accident or injury.
