About Megan
Qualifications: B.Sc. Occupational Therapy (UWC, 2011)
As an occupational therapist in Kimberley, Megan Perumal once believed occupational therapists worked only with school-aged children—an impression formed while she shadowed an OT in the Department of Education’s inclusive learning unit and tagged along with her mother, an educational support specialist. She loved those visits: the therapist’s playful sessions made every activity feel like a game.
Years later, at university, Megan discovered the deeper science behind those moments—the power of meaningful occupation that distinguishes OT from other allied professions. Today, she brings that insight to every client, meeting them at eye-level and designing truly client-centred interventions that spark full engagement and real progress. The field’s constant evolution fuels her curiosity, offering endless opportunities to grow, innovate, and help people reclaim the activities that make life meaningful.
Three years ago, Megan decided to “lose the mommy fat” and became a 4 am gym fanatic, squeezing in six weekly sessions of kettlebell training, cycling, Pilates, and her new love—jogging. That discipline powers her therapy sessions. Outside the clinic, you will catch her on the piano, violin, or recorder at church, teaching Sunday school, or volunteering at a home for abandoned and abused babies. Even rest time is active: cooking feasts for her family, diving into drama-packed novels or movies, and getting happily tangled in play with her two daughters.
Megan’s mission as a Kimberley occupational therapist stays the same wherever she is: help people reclaim the occupations that make life meaningful.
